CASE STUDY: CLIENT A'S STORY
Client A was referred to Your Chance as she had become homeless
after her family had asked her to leave following a series of rows. Client A was very vulnerable, had never lived on her own before and
was not at all streetwise.
Client A was keen to improve her skills and knowledge, so she undertook some basic local training, but her real focus was on getting
a job. Her Your Chance support worker supported her to write a CV
and held some mock interviews to improve her confidence and ability
to sell herself. This resulted in her being offered an apprenticeship in
digital marketing and she has been on this for three months now.
Client A was able to access supported accommodation, and when
she started her apprenticeship, she began considering other
accommodation options which are more affordable.
Your Chance was able to pay for some driving lessons for Client A, something her family had once promised her if she was able to secure a paid job. This has given her a real boost and she is working hard to complete the rest of the programme. She has also started writing to her family to update them on all she has achieved and hopes now they can see the changes in her they will want to re-establish contact.
